21 Feb 26 Reply should have mentioned that the males are grey. Good luck with your burrowing owls. Feb 16th
21 Feb 26 Comment It is a lovely bird. There is something a bit plastic about it. There really isn't any feather definition. The changed one from Tom with the neutral background and deleted branch is an improvement but the feet are very odd. Sorry to be so harsh. Feb 16th
21 Feb 26 Comment Wow, what a bird. I've certainly never seen anything to rival that one. They can't be very common. It's a tough situation to get a bird to stand out in dense vegetation. You did well with one of your fifty choices. Feb 8th
21 Feb 26 Comment The soft colors and great focus make this shot. The leaves are a good inclusion. Well done. Feb 8th
21 Feb 26 Comment Not an easy shot to get. I've never gotten close enough to even try. She is gorgeous. Interestingly, there are more female harriers, than male, so they don't mate and stay together as a pair to raise the young. He has extra duty to help all his paramours. Feb 8th
21 Feb 26 Comment You really nail it with your fishing bird photos. Can't think of a thing to improve it except maybe including a bit more of the neck and the head plumes. Maybe a square crop? Feb 8th

94 Feb 26 Comment Cars make good blinds. A bit too bright in my opinion. I would like to see it darker and more saturated. I like the parade of cranes, such stately birds. Maybe crop off some off the top and also give the cranes a little more room to walk into on the right? Feb 8th
94 Feb 26 Comment I can't think of much to improve this darling shot. Your focus, cropping and subject matter are perfect. The action is perfect. Not sure why you increased the shadows on the birds unless they were blown out. Nice catch...worth the time following them. Didn't know young cranes are called colts. Thanks for that. Feb 8th
94 Feb 26 Comment It is in remarkable focus for being far away. I think the rain enhances the photo. The colors are amazing and your crop perfect. VERY well done. I've seen these birds, but never got a good shot of one. I'm envious! Feb 8th
94 Feb 26 Comment Very great catch and well executed, as usual. Getting such good focus on the dark eye is impressive. They are such weird birds. In my bird group (21) I have a Ground hornbill with a frog in nearly the same situation. Feb 8th
