I like the full body one much better. What a lovely bird. You could clone out the restraints. |

They are so defensive of their territory. You've done a good job of showing this behavior. Nice colors. |

my walls are already crowded with birdies. I've framed many. |

The darkened background really makes this photo. Like you say, they now POP. |

But that's not the worst of it. Females lay their eggs in smaller birds' nests, then leave the smaller birds to raise the young cowbirds. Because they are bigger than the small babies they out-compete for food, even going so far as to push the other nestlings out of the nest. They are horrid birds. The males are the black ones with the brown heads. This is a female, no doubt looking for a nest to parasitize. |

She looks like she is eyeing you skeptically. Good sharp catch. Think you did the right thing leaving the sky as is. Having birds look directly at you makes some really goofy photos...eyes on the side of the head don't work well. Heads turned as yours is, works best. |

I always adhere to the adage..."rules are to be broken". Not always of course, but sometimes for sure. |

Now that's a close-up portrait. Perhaps a little too close? I think the focus could be sharper with a little less zooming. But very nice colors and a good head shot...you could tell us what species it is? |

Good number...3. And the wing positions as Ted said are perfect. Had no idea mute swan juveniles looked like that. We don't get any mutes around here. Too bad the background is so busy, but you have no choice about that. You might think about selecting the swans and blurring the background to make them pop more (if you use PhotoShop). |

Well someone, if not you, identified your warbler. You managed to get it in good focus even though it must have been far away in the treetops. The foliage in the background suggests fall instead of spring. Interesting. |

Welcome to the group. The water colors are a lovely backdrop for these kingfishers. Capturing both in flight, with their nice reflections was a good feat. You might consider a tighter crop so we could see the birds better...or not, it's your photo. |

OOh those horrid cowbirds. A nice capture of a species I would like to eliminate. |

You are very creative, looked at your other group too. Yes, very spooky. Looks like the original didn't have a lot of extra space around it. Generative expand can fix that. |

Nice B&W treatment. Afraid I think the whites are a bit too bright. Otherwise, a nice photo. |

Looks like a marbled godwit to me. They are entertaining to watch wielding those long bills. The bird looks good but the water in the foreground is a little odd. Perhaps over-processed? You were dealing with a tough lighting situation. |

Love the touch of ice blue hole in the center. Terrific shot of an iceberg. Lucky you to get to Antarctica. |

Wish I'd known you were in the area. We live very close to the park. It is cold up there already for sure. The B&W treatment works well even if you didn't make it B&W on purpose. The wind whipping up snow on the lake is a nice touch. |

Another amazing shot, Sherry. Love the action and colors. Our great blues don't start building nests until spring when most return to our area. We have a few spend the winter, but they aren't thinking about mating... just staying warm. |
