21 Sep 25 Reply To me white line is gone, but now bit over-sharpened. However, under the lighting circumstances pretty good shot. Sep 15th
21 Sep 25 Comment Didn't see this one earlier. Quite nice action shot and great colors. All you did in postprocessing (and it was a lot) worked. Sep 15th
21 Sep 25 Comment From whichever corner the branch comes from, it's a leading line. People usually read from left to right, so that's the most common, but either way is a choice for the photographer. (Not that I don't like Tom's suggestion. Always good to hear other options.) Sep 15th
21 Sep 25 Reply Teehee, you fixed it alright.

21 Sep 25 Reply No ruby-throats in the west. not sure I trust copilot.
read the prior reply post for possibilities.
the 4 migrators would be Calliope, Rufous, Broad-tailed, and the likeliest IMO is the Black-chin.

21 Sep 25 Comment I like the over the shoulder pose, the colors, wave motion and the shape of the rock. Whites are tricky and you managed them well. Good job. Sep 6th
21 Sep 25 Reply It's really hard to say. The immatures and females look very similar among the species. Without being able to see the belly or the tail feathers there are several species it could be...and I'm not an expert. In Las Vegas there could be about 4 different species migrating through about now and only the Allen's there for breeding season. Sep 1st
21 Sep 25 Comment I doubt the feathers are wet. It's a nice capture of a lovely bird in flight. Good room in front for the heron to fly into. Well done. Only comment would be to lower the brightness of the yellow leaves above the heron. Sep 1st
21 Sep 25 Comment Love the mossy branch the owl is sitting on. And the owl is a beauty. Background green is a little overwhelming. It is somewhat obvious you selected the owl, so perhaps toning down the green might be worth it. Sep 1st
21 Sep 25 Comment Nice colors on the swallow. Good sitting branch. Background a little too busy, could clone out several of the out-of-focus branches. Maybe lighten the dark side of the head just a little? Underside of the swallow has a tinge of green I suspect you didn't intend. Sep 1st
21 Sep 25 Comment Unusual perspective for the heron. Background overly bright, but not sure what you'd do about it. It would drive the selection tool crazy. Sep 1st
21 Sep 25 Comment Remind me where you live. It's a female or juvenile male, which are always tricky because they mostly look alike. If you live in CA, it's likely an Anna's. Sep 1st

94 Sep 25 Comment Absolutely agree with you about roadless areas. Your little slice of nature is lovely...colors nice, water treatment good, exposure perfect. Very calming photo. Sep 6th
94 Sep 25 Comment How cute are those young otters! How lucky to see them playing with each other. Agree the one looking at you steals the show. If it were my photo I'd crop off most of the out-of-focus foreground. Bring the little otters even closer. Sep 6th
