Well that's a drag. Hope the other one is working well. I do have a friend that lost an eye in a traffic accident and that was 30 years ago. He is doing okay. The brain apparently compensates. Best of luck. |

You mentioned "peaceful" about Poulton's image. I can say the same for this one. Looks like you were in the water with the duck (altho I suspect...not). Sorry to hear your recovery is taking so long. |

I wonder where you found this bird. Maybe in different parts of Africa they look different? I have seen and photographed African Paradise flycatchers in southern Africa and they don't look like that. The head looks right, but the rest of the bird and tail are totally different. Just curious as a birder. |

Oh boy, didn't realize you had a knee replaced. I know the agony of that and now have one that needs to be redone. Bah! I'm putting it off as long as possible. Best of luck with the rehab. |

What funny geese. I would have liked to know what happened to the stick. Good technical qualities to each photo. |

Humm, Tom's rework helped immensely. The submitted one is way over saturated and the background distracting. They are gorgeous birds, you were lucky to find one. |

Shutter speed might have been overkill for birds just sitting there. You could have gotten the ISO down to 100 or 200 with such bright sunlight.
I like the leading line branch and you have the favored odd number of subjects. Good colors on the swallows. |

We have scads of Dark-eyed Juncos here in winter. We used to have several sub-species listed separately in the field guides, but now they're just lumped into one.
They all scatter north for summer except for one sub-species just goes higher in the mountains . You did a great job of softening the background. Focus is good, showing all feathers and capturing the catch light in the eye. Juncos are pretty cute little fluff balls.

Judges, smudges...I like the two, altho often we are told odd numbers are better than even. Which one would you eliminate? They are both lovely. Your branch with the 2 in perfect focus is very nice the way it is. |

Goodness, that's a weird angle. Never saw anything like that before. What lovely feathers. I love the water color and patterns. Definitely makes one take a second look. |

I think you got a great sunburst. I keep trying for those, but so far, my luck has been limited. Nothing worth showing. Did get a weird halo effect recently, maybe put that in next month. You really managed to pull up the exposure without blowing anything out. Well done. I love the low light golden colors with just a hint of blue at the top. |

I like your take on the tree. I have photos of that exact tree... if I think of it maybe I'll submit it next time. I like the starkness of the white against the blue, blue western sky. I would have deleted the park poles on the left side.
A fellow in my camera club has photos of that same tree.
Obviously a favorite for those visiting White Sands. |

Great monkey interaction. They do look all too human. Nice blurred background. My only nitpick would be to tone down the yellows. It seems a little oversaturated to me. |

Catching it in flight before the fields of flowers is a nice touch. They have to be tough to capture as they are so fast. Having a bit of a catch light is good. Perhaps lighten the eye just a teensy bit to get it to be more visible? Don't know it that would make any difference or not. It's a great tern shot. My father used to say "every good tern deserves another". He was a punny guy. |

Don't remember anything being wrong with the first one, but this is a winner. The interaction with the flower is perfect, the wings frozen to show every detail, the colors amazing, the background blurred to perfection. The bee is an added bonus. With hummer photos, I always think some interaction makes the picture more relatable. |
