21 Apr 24 Reply oops, my bad...I know they are geese...temporary slip of the brain cells. (I hope) Apr 15th
21 Apr 24 Comment Afraid I agree with Mike. I find this version sadly inadequate. The background is an unnatural distraction. The bird was probably far more in focus with more natural coloration than what came after hours of fussing. Sometimes less is more. Apr 15th
21 Apr 24 Comment Are the bills really that orange or did you over saturate a tad? Beautiful ducks. Apr 6th
21 Apr 24 Comment Cranes are so special and catching them in flight tricky. On my screen the whole photo looks rather dull. Perhaps run it through levels to pep it up a bit? Focus is soft, but maybe that doesn't matter if you can get them to pop. Apr 6th
21 Apr 24 Comment Interesting action, but the pelican bill seems too saturated to me. I agree with Michael that one cannot tell what is in the bill (wish it had been a bigger fish). However, pelicans are such wonderful birds to photograph...big and colorful. Apr 6th
21 Apr 24 Comment Certainly looks like a male to me. But the capture is excellent and the colors lovely. Background good and focus perfect. Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment Ah, tis the season. Our Canada geese are busy at it also. I like the angle which you managed to catch this pair. I can't complain about the light, I rather like the brightness. Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment It is an unusual, and therefore interesting, takeoff. I like it but agree the underside is so dark it's hard to make out any detail. Dodging doesn't help? Apr 3rd

94 Apr 24 Reply yes, definitely a baby clinging to mother's belly. Part of the reason I identified it as a "family". And yes, it was cropped to the max. I liked the diagonal position and the colors. The technical aspects, not so much. Apr 18th
94 Apr 24 Reply The howlers in Costa Rica are the black ones and yes, they definitely throw poop. I've had it happen to me, fortunately they missed! Apr 11th
94 Apr 24 Comment You certainly did a great job with your new toy! Absolutely lovely spoonbill and muted background. Big and colorful, my favorite kind of bird. Apr 8th
94 Apr 24 Comment They were too far away and I see at this magnification, too pixelated. Not nearly the focus and detail I would prefer. Ah well, next month. Apr 6th
94 Apr 24 Comment Always a treat to see these guys. I like the family unit but think perhaps you got a bit carried away with the vibrance and saturation. I'm very familiar with pronghorns and their habitat and would not expect to see such a green tone. They are not that orange either. Perhaps it's my monitor, but the colors are too vivid. Sorry to be such a spoilsport. Apr 6th
94 Apr 24 Comment I am an insect and spider person. I love photographing bugs. This spider is amazing...I've not seen one this colorful and the fact that it is small is more amazing. Great capture of the web also. Apr 6th
94 Apr 24 Comment Well I would say who doesn't love a turkey vulture, but many don't. I am not one of them. I like to see them warming up in the morning getting ready to soar. Vultures perform such necessary tasks in our environment, I wish people liked them better. Feathers very well defined...head a bit bright. Nice pose and focus. Good blur on background. Apr 6th
94 Apr 24 Comment I'm glad you were in a hide. Looks a bit dangerous from that angle otherwise. Who doesn't love elephants? You caught one in a great action pose. The size of the animal is emphasized
in your photo. Color, cropping and focus right on. Very nice.

94 Apr 24 Comment Is there any bird cuter than a parrot? Not in my book. This pair is perfect. Lucky you managed to catch both between the branches. You might be taking this hand held from a boat? Apr 6th
