Quick note. You can tell the difference between male and female monarchs. The males have an enlarged swelling on the hind wings' black stripes. It's easier to see from the top of the wing.
So glad you liked the shot. |

He was very healthy...just emerged from the chrysalis. This was late summer so he would be heading to Mexico soon. |

I have to agree with Cami. Sky needs to go. Either a tighter crop on horse's face, or move to different angle when taking the shot. (Hard to do days later.) Beautiful horse. |

Butterflies are a fav for me. We have had an abundance of Western Tigers and Two-tailed swallowtails this year. I have so many photos of butterflies it's hard to choose. I decided on the monarch because I haven't seen a one this season. Maybe I'll pester you with a western tiger some other time. |

Nice high-key shot. Bird in motion with fish...what a lucky capture. Love the yellow feet.
On my screen the wings, esp. on the right side, look like they were cut out? Maybe the sharpening was too much? Don't know. |

Spoonbills have to be one of my all time favorite birds...sadly lacking in Colorado. You captured a wonderful moment with all 3 (a good number for photos) in perfect focus. |
