Kyle, your Christmas day sounds wonderful. Good for you for continuing with the cloudy weather. I agree with what the others have suggested (need faster speeds, more sharpness, and the birds in the background taken out.) My suggestion is to go back on a bright day, either in the morning or evening when the light is good, and just experiment with your settings. I love taking bird photos! |

Diana, I think you got a good shot at an unusual time. To me the face is the most important, and it could be lighened or use a darken/lighten center filter on the face. Keep the light in the torch, and I think both will display what you wanted.

Kyle, welcome and this is an interesting landscape photograph. The path draws us right into the scene, and the lighting does as well. I sense you really wanted to brighten the entire scene. On the other hand the original lighting and Dean's version give it more mystery. I really like the light on the cactus' and giving that more focus. It gives us a direction of where to look in a big photograph. |

This is such an unusual photograph. I appreciate the simplity of it and understand keeping it muted, as that is what you saw and experienced. The natural blues and gold are so beautiful in it, and I would like to see a more saturated version to bring those way out more. Nice shot! |

Denise, excellent conversion and I agree with the B&W. You brought out a lot of texture not seen in the color. Thanks for the info on the processing you used. I am learning from this. |

Jan, I liked seeing how you processed it. Did you increase the image size since it was from your cell phone? It is always fun to try new filters too, like you did. I think I like Denise's color version the best, and glad you liked it also. |

Beautiful photo! I like the addition of pastel at the end, really softening it up. A memory of Christmas is always precious. |

Connie, I really like the main photo that you did and presented. I like the vignette, and the blue eyes. You processed it in B&W,but what is giving it the brown color? Is that the color balance filter turned to brown? |
