Well that link says it all! I certainly can improve it with replacing the sky, as was likely done in most of these photos! It was the best image available at the time I could be there, but could not be there at sunset. I will work on this some. Thank you!

Thanks Dean, appreciate the comments. Is an iconic image a bad thing...like we see too many of these? Or is iconic a classic image, yours competes, and can be improved with less sky? I actually thought the lavender against the Olympic mountains was unusual. But I did not get more detail in the mountains. There was haze, and I got this. More comments please.

Barbara, I had no idea these only lasted a day. Fortunately you accomplished what you wanted, and it is a really lovely photo. The flower is beautiful, the background is perfect, and you documented the life cycle of that little flower. |

Damon, this is a real wow photo! What colors you caught at dawn, and all your work was worth it. I don't like heights, so I felt a little dizzy viewing it. If you wanted or needed to crop it, I could do it from the bottom to take away that feeling. But maybe that is why you liked this photo? What a trip that must have been! |

Anne, this image is quite good for not having a macro lens with you. Yes, I think that is folage in the way, and so the blur is too prominant, imho. I like the cropped version much better. It is small, but sharp, and conveys just what is needed. |
