Emmy, I have to agree with Richard. The green-winged teals are beautiful, and just the pair together with their bills out of the water would have been lovely. The plovers flying away, 7 butts, are a distraction. The black-bellied plovers get that name due to in mating season, their bellies really turn black. Now that is a shot! If you have a chance to go back out there and try again, maybe isolate one or two birds, and definately get their eyes. |

Thanks Damon. The outdoor background was terrible, with people in the background, lots of different light bouncing around...just could not use it at all. I will try your tips and see if she comes out better with the mask. |

I only had a couple of minutes with her, but I agree with your comments regarding her face. Perceptive on your part, that I did not see. I will leave her title as "Cowgirl." |

Jane, this is a beautiful image. I like the sun star in it. I think it just needs one couple, otherwise my eye goes from one couple to the other. I'd probably remove the couple on the left just for simplicity. |

I've seen a shot like this a lot. To make it stand out, maybe crop much more and focus on the eye? How great that you even got this shot in winter! |

Nice contrast. Agree, this is hard to shoot. |
