What a fine still life. Your lighting on the figure & silk scarve is masterful. May I suggest you consider lightening the perfume bottle & the top of the mascara case with soft brush with low flow and a positive half stop of exposure. I think subtlely lightening the bottle & case will make a stronger draw to the eye and better balance the image. |

Ian... great timing and composition to create an interesting story. I would echo the comments already made & acknowledged by you as being definite image improvements. As an alternative, consider an oval eliptical layer inverted to create a closer vignette that darkens some of the background. The outcome would be to isolate the eye onto the two figures |

Peter....I have a lot of respect for the research & travel you did over the years to capture these images. It is a memerizing image, excellently photographed & processed. Assuming this was taken in the afternoon, from the shadow on the figure, did the setting sun present more opportunity to create depth? |

John..what a good capture & composition! The framing by the trees is exceptional and your inclusional of a harsh contrast adds to make the grainy structure. I really think the light helps make this image and I would recommend you experiment with it some more. I would consider darkening the foreground with a soft gradient and then a light eliptical layer inverted to shape the light coming from the side. I am sure you could image a solution that is much better but I have upload an example to illustrate my point. |

Hello Lorna, just visiting from Group 31, I would recommend you stay with the essence of the original image where you saw and captured the light entering the street. It has a potential to be developed with more light. I took the original small jpeg and tried to demonstrate what I mean. |
