Thank you Ian, I have entered it into a Club competition and I wonder whether it is "interesting enough" |

Ella....fun, imaginitive and executed to an amazing quality. I laughed at Peter's comment and could hear a Judge saying " Yes...but where is the story? " I do appreciate your description on how you took the image. |

Ed..this is an intriguing image and I can understand what draws your eye. Overall, currently it is a bit flat and bland. I think the crop suggested by Stuart has some merit but I do like the intricate patterns in the stone work. I would consider darkening the image overall and let the bushes & two pieces of wood naturally stand out in contrast to the dark door. |

Hello Ian....you have a good eye..the question begs an answer, did you finish your ice cream first? I think it is well photographed great focus exposure and your processing is spot on. Taking up Ella suggestion I experimented with only darkening one side of the image and it seemed to make the keys stand out more. I also thought a very small increase in contrast adds something. |

Peter congratulations on a great image and it surely ranks among your best compositions. The alternating layers of light and shadow are complex and give the image great depth and interest. From the grass on the foreground to the leading lines of the road to the church and the zig zag of the ridges to the summit. Simply awesome! |

John....very creative and original. I am full of wonderment as to how you create this as I have a "creative" deficit gene when it comes to that genre. As alternative to your creative focus on lines, I feel the re-introduction some tonal contrast would push it back from being so black. I took into CEP and added the Tonal Contrast 'Balanced" and then Paper Toner to illlustrate my suggestion. I believe you could do it better in Affinity Photo. |
