31 Jan 23 Reply Both B&W & color are great photos. Your critique of my effort is valid as I just did a hurried layer for illustrative purposes. I'm sure your experienced hand would do it better Jan 14th
31 Jan 23 Comment Happy New Year to you too Ella, My compliments on this image, you have perfected all the technical elements. Your composition is very creative and clever. I struggled accepting the sloped horizon but when I tried to change it, I could not argue that it might be done differently. I really creative & impressive result from a simple object. Jan 13th
31 Jan 23 Comment Hello Susan, I really do like the composition and you have created good story. Lots of interesting elements from French architecture to graffiti in play. I am not sure what you used to sharpen, but you have artefacts visible on your edges and particularly around the pigeons. Jan 13th
31 Jan 23 Comment Hello Ed, Interesting composition that has something very pleasing and calming about it. I would suggest you consider a 16:9 crop allowing you to crop out some of that foreground. It maybe my eye or monitor but I think your levels are a little too bright and need to be reduced to give you back your blacks. Jan 13th
31 Jan 23 Comment Hello again Peter, a fine image and nicely processed in difficult bright sunlight. I am assuming you added that sky? It is quite fantastic and it makes me want to suggest that you could process it further into a more moody image with an elliptical light source and darkening the rest like I have roughed in the attached file. 31 Jan 23 Comment Hi John, I think your instincts are right and there is an image worth pursuing here. With our eyes always drawn to the light I'd recommend cropping out the light foreground and darkening or eliminating the bright clouds on the right. I would try Topaz sharpening to increase the DOF.
