Peter....I must give you some credit too for this image. I have had this in color for years and have never been satisfied with the composition or finish. When I got inspired to try some of the B&W processing you have shown me, it seemed to suddenly come to life. So ...thank you ! |

John....it is easy to see that you love the subject. It is fun and actively draws you in to imagine being in that flowing water. I think the execution is impressive with the sharp rocks but enough detail in the flowing water to have those directional lines. The placement of the two dark rocks in the composition give it balance too, |

Peter...wonderful composition and execution. The composite is skillfully done as to be impossible to discern. There is so much depth and contrast as to make the image very interesting to stare at endlessly trying to understand the light and subject. |

Ian...great execution in a tiny window of opportunity. The lack of space on the right subtracts from perfection but there is no denying the tension, impact and story of this image. |

Ed....Great composition and tonal quality to this image. I'm not sure whether it was your intent but I find the distortion in the upper left and right corners distracting and I assume that was from the choice of Silver Ex layer. |

Paul...nice action portrait of a hummingbird. I agree with Ella that it looks a little soft and after some pixel peeping my guess is that the focus fell on the nearest side of the feeder or you needed to take the speed up to 1/4000 sec. I attach an example where the speed was at 1/4000 and you still get a lot of wing blur
I also feel that as a subject that they do not offer enough contrast to give a B&W image and you lose the ability to illustrate the iridescence |

Ella...this is one of the best B&W still lifes I have seen. The composition and execution are perfect. |
