Hi Dom - I love the angles and lines of this image and the structure lends itself well to B&W perfectly. The only possible suggestion I came up with was to maybe accentuate the beams of light on the door and on the stairs a bit more. Regardless, nice image! |

Thanks for the comments Dom. I did make another version incorporating both your suggestion to darken the white line of the ocean and Kirsti's thought to crop the sky and both were great suggestions. I was so happy when I first saw the image that part of the ocean was showing, but, the shot is about the riders on the beach and that bright, thin line did draw my eye away. Thanks again. |

Thanks for the comments Kirsti - I tried your suggestion of cropping a bit of the sky and I think the result was an improvement. I was so enamored with the patterns in the sky I couldn't imagine cropping any of it, but when I did, I preferred the cropped image because greater focus was on the subject. Thanks! |

Hello Kirsti - I like the setup you have for this image but to my eye the lighting on the ground and trees could be reduced. An alternative to Dom's suggested crop might be to bring up the shadows a bit in the darkest part of the left side to show detail that might help achieve your goal of having that area add to the mystery. |
