I really like the revision but can't imagine the guilt you'll feel if there's ever a shipwreck in these waters! |

Trung - If an image is judged by its impact, I think you've won a blue ribbon! It's difficult to stop looking at this photo, there are so many interesting elements. The image has a wonderful tonal range with white, whites; black, blacks; and everything in between. It may look just as good with part of the bottom cropped but it's a wonderful photo as is. Great capture! |

Hi Albert - I really like the contrast and composition of this image. I agree with the comment regarding opening up the shadows a bit. Also, I think Kirsti's processing did do a good job of dealing with the noise in the clouds. |

Hi Kirsti - I'm going to have to add my vote for the color version also. I think it has more impact. I think the large rock adds interest but I would consider removing the tower that's way in the background. Perhaps the B&W image could be more impactful by adding more contrast. |

Hi Ed - I appreciate the reminder of the significance of the Battle of Antietam. I'd forgotten many of the details other than it being the deadliest one-day battle in US history. On to the photo - I don't have experience with sepia so I can't really comment on anything technical other than to say that you've certainly captured the feel of the era with your processing. I do wish the sign on the right were either not there or less of a presence in the image. Thanks for sharing this. |

What a unique image and I agree with Ed and Kirsti about the great tonal range. I love the detail in the clouds and I think the hawk adds to the interest of the image. I have no suggestions for this great shot. Nice! |
