I really like the tonal range on this shot. The image appears very well-exposed with detail throughout. I also really like the processing on the sky. It does seem that church would "feel" better if it were on the other side of the frame so the door would be opening into more space but I suspect that may not have been a choice you had in this setting. Great shot with a very fascinating subject. |

Great job capturing a smile on a feline! I do like the crop from the original. I played around with increasing the contrast a bit and thought that helped bring out more detail in the fur. I do think that cats' eyes are so interesting that having a bobcat image with eyes closed, makes me feel something is missing. Maybe they don't smile when their eyes open! |

Beautiful architecture and stacks and stacks of books - what an amazing place this must have been to visit! The exposure on the books seemed a little washed-out to me. I tried pulling down the exposure using the tone curve in Lightroom and for my taste, thought it made a positive difference. (That change would have necessitated slightly lightening a couple of other parts of the image.) |

When I first saw this I thought, "What a great period-capture crowd scene! I wonder what people will think of this shot in 50 years with all those phones and other devices on outstretched arms to capture the action?" I didn't notice the Pope. Maybe a tighter crop starting just to the right of the cameraman would help focus viewers' eyes on the subject. The bright strip of sunlight between the crowd and pillars pulls my eye away from the subject. I tried a generous vignette and thought that helped a bit to keep my eye where it should be in this shot. Also, several pictures in a picture with this shot. A crop of the upper left quarter of just the crowd with all those outstretched arms is fun perspective too. |
