Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
47 Mar 22 Reply Hello Lance - I'm happy this image caught your eye and thanks for taking the time to comment. I especially appreciated the detail you offered about what you liked about the shot. I don't yet speak the language of photography and when I read comments with such well-expressed specifics, I'm jealous! ...Jeff Mar 26th
47 Mar 22 Reply Hi Robert - I think your changes did improve the image by keeping the viewer's focus on the people and then the patterns of the structure. Mar 16th
47 Mar 22 Reply Very nice fix on that forehead transition! Mar 16th
47 Mar 22 Reply Thanks Al. I'll definitely try the top-crop to see how that looks. Mar 15th
47 Mar 22 Reply Thank you for the comments Kirsti. I can't get the concave-convex thing yet. I'll keep trying! Mar 15th
47 Mar 22 Reply Thanks for the comments Robert. I actually had wanted to include all 5 silos but there was space between silo 3 and silo 4 that I don't yet have the Photoshop skills to remove. Mar 15th
47 Mar 22 Comment There's a lot I like about this image: the sharpness, the detail in the beard, the subject's expression, and the sparkle in the his eyes. The subject's jacket buttons did draw my eyes away from the subject. Perhaps they could be removed or darkened. Also, the skin tone seems to be "flat". Part of his forehead, right above his right eye, looks brighter and more natural to me than the other half of his face and the top of his head. Mar 14th
47 Mar 22 Comment I really like the composition of this image, particularly, the lines and the implied tension between individual and the group of three. I appreciate the desire to show that the location is below ground level but I think if I were using it in a competition, I'd crop out the top portion and keep the viewer's focus on the people and the lines. For my taste, the image might also benefit from just a bit more contrast, particularly the walls.

47 Mar 22 Comment I think this image is very impactful and powerful. The composition really communicates the scale of the mountains. I love the dark sky with white clouds. For my taste, the image is not over-sharpened. My only suggestion is that the snow on the small hill in front could be whiter. While that extra brightness at the bottom might take a little away from the mountains, it might also serve to help take the viewer into the image. Mar 14th
