Yes, the mountains on the far right were already in shadow. This is just before sunset.
If by "Joshua Tree" you mean Joshua tree National park, tbis is a different place. I think most places in JTNP have more small hills, ridges, etc, so it would look different. |

Another nice one, well composed and pleasing.
At the risk of nitpicking I would have cropped in from the left just a fraction more...a little bit of bright concrete(?) is left in the middle |

Nice image. I tried it with the top cropped off and the castle thus closer to the top. And with the bright lanscape in the upper left burned down. To my eye that seemed better.
Not sure but I think the castle is tilted very slightly up on the right, and once I see that it's hard to get out of my head |

Hi Lou, I'm late to the game so will mostly echo other comments. Zooming into the center-lower right would seem better. The dust/spinning wheels are fabulous!
Odds vs evens...yes, I would like to know why odds are most pleasing but that always seems to be the case |

Have to love it! Great travel image. I echo some other comments that the image could use some burning/vignetting.
Is that the Don Henley statue in the upper left of the Rte 66 logo? |

Hi Julie, again, welcome to the group. I'm looking forward to seeing looks of NZ images!
Two comments: To my eye the dark trees at the bottom were a bit distracting. Maybe play with some crops to see if removing them would be helpful.
The blown out sky in the original image........I briefly owned the Mini before upgrading to the Air 2S. If the Mini has an exposure bracketing option (I cant remember if it does) I would leave it on (if you are not already) and then hopefully recover pesky highlights in post. |
