Hi Joan, thank you for your feedback, it's appreciated that you have made the time to come over and visit our group. I live in a semi rural area and the tree is from the farm close by. It's a dead gum tree. |

Melissa, what a great idea. You've done terrific good job in extracting the men from the original busy background and placing them in an environment that is believable and where they would have fought in a field in real life.
I think that you have cropped it too might from the top and you might consider extending the image canvass to include more sky. This would visually give the image more balance, especially as the men appear "large" in the scene. Here is what I mean. I only did an content aware fill to give as an example.
It's a pity we don't have these recreations of Medieval battles in Australia. |

What a wonderful idea Hazel, different interpretations of the same flower at different angles and focusing on different parts. Well thought out.
You might consider placing the vase in the center of the montage with the different aspects of the flower and petals surrounding it. In my opinion this would give the viewer a strong connection between the various parts of the flower.
I do agree with Melissa about the strong yellow background, you might consider toning it down or making it a very pale yellow so that the flowers stand out more. Well done. |

What a terrific concept Brad, it certainly has a surreal feel to it. The man's posture and position does give the impression that he's intrigued by the quality of the painting and has decided to walk into it to study it. Just a tiny suggestion, it would feel more surreal if the painting was resting on the ground/floor of the museum with the man's left foot there and the right foot in to the painting as you have it. This would ground him better. Maybe put a sky behind the painting rather than leaving it on the wall. |

Thank Ingrid, the colour does look more deeper than the original. I placed a texture over the final image in post processing and I think that had an effect on the colour. I didn't convert it to greyscale. |

Bob, thanks for your feedback and you're right the white petals were white and I did a bit of dodging to mute it. The colour of the border part of the petals is from a texture that I placed over it. This iris is or was very popular at the garden fest and it took me two years to finally buy one. It is its selling point as you said. Have a nice trip. |

Thanks Marti, having a look at it again, the over sharpening is from the dodging I did to mute the white as I thought it was too distracting, I might have overdone it. Thanks for your feedback |

It's all a matter of preferences Doug, but your latest version is great. I've noticed you eliminated some of the minor distractions around the flower and it does improve it quite a lot. Nicely done. |

Another lovely flower Ingrid and irises are one of my favourites. I think the trio presentation is very pleasing as is the colour of the flower. Based on the comments, I would suggest flipping the canvas horizontally which would place the small bud on the left and that would act as a leading line to the petals. |

Kamal, the oil paint filter works well in this image as it's subtle and complements the flower. I agree with Doug, the crop is too tight as the leaves are on the edge of the right and left side of the frame. I would suggest to leave some space either side and crop more of the top section. I've done a square crop as an example. Beautiful bud. |

Doug, I really like your original, it's just lovely. Your more creative interpretation of the sunflower is very interesting, I like the shape, the angle and the touch of green in the yellow petals. I do agree with the others about the strong green leaves, they do tend to take the focus away from the flower. You may consider softening and darkening the leaves and leaving the flower as is.
I used field blur in PS and then used Curves adjustment layers to darken the background. Something like this. Nice work. |

Marti, well done on this capture. The focal point is the bee on the center part of the flower. It's a great angle focusing at the level of the flower and bee. I don't have any valuable suggestions for improvement. Well done. |

Bob, this is just lovely. I like everything about it; the smooth green background, the water droplets and the tilt of the stem. Saturating the flower somewhat would make it stand out even more. Well done. |
