Hi Henry, my suggestion would be to use the method that you described above but retain the original background and enhance it with textures to showcase the windows and the colours. |

Hi Henry, thanks for your comments and observations. To be honest to do what you have suggested, I would need to almost start from scratch. |

Hi Tom, reading your description, I think you have achieved your goal in creating a mirror effect of a bridge. Adding the kayaker does force the viewer to stay in the centre. My only suggestion is that the white clouds could be darken as it does attract attention away from your main subject. I like the symmetry and balance of this image. |

Hi Henry, these tulips are just gorgeous with beautiful colours. I thought that you might consider incorporating the three centre tulips, they are partly visible as it is. Three is always more pleasing to the eye. I do agree with Julie that you might want to extend the canvas to include some parts of the leaves. The original background of this image is just beautiful. Would you consider enhancing it?

Hi Julie, welcome to the group. I'm finding your image very interesting. What a clever way of representing something as ordinary as shoes and turning it into a piece of artwork. Well done. |

Hi Brad, I do like your crop and it does give it a different perspective altogether. I'll go back to see if I didn't delete the pixels when I cropped. I'm going through a phase of square crops! Having a look at the shadows, yes they are a bit heavy. Easily fixed. |

Hi Julie, I like your ideas, that would be fun with the birds one on her foot and one on her outstreached arm. I also like the idea of some fog. That didn't occur to me. That certainly would give it a different dimension. Great help. Thank you. |

Thanks for letting me know Bob. I don't know how to use Lightroom but will use the image size in PS. |

Hi Peter, thank you for your comments. The original doesn't have the bluish cast. Converting to jepg at 72dpi and medium compression has made the image a bit darker than what it is.

Hi Syed, one of my favourite flowers, poppies, hard to photograph hand held as they bend at the slightest breeze and you did a good job with your image. If your objective in taking an image was to showcase the centre bit, then I agree with Bob, that you might want to consider increasing the f stop to ensure that part is pin sharp as it's the focal point of the image. The colours are very complementary. |

Hi Peter, the flower reminds me of the clivas that are ready to bloom "down under" shortly. Deep orange colour. How you represented this is beautiful and I like the fact that you incorporated part of the stem. The black background sets it off well. You will notice at the end of the top petal, there's a "floating" small petal. Is that deliberate? If not, then you might want to consider cloning it out. |

Hi Bob, your representation of the flower is well done.
It's probably a path that I would take if I took the image.

Hi Doug, I adore hostas and have many in my garden. I would have to ask, do you pick the leaves as they are preparing for winter and then dry them some way? The image is just gorgeous and has a 3d effect. Well done. |

Hi Jacob, do you do all your editing on your iphone? The reason I'm asking is that you can create 'height' for the flower in photoshop. It's easily done by extending the canvas vertically, copy the blue sky, paste over the empty part of the canvas, add layer mask and blend. The flower does warrant height as it quite large. I do agree with Kathryn about a tighter crop. It's a lovely flower and the yellow against the blue sky is pleasing. |

Hi Bob, I enjoy photographing flowers and so was delighted when a Flower group was set up. To answer your question, yes, this is about my standard but I'm trying to move forward as after awhile, they have a similar theme. I'm hoping to get inspiration from the group. |
