Agreeing almost completely with Sherry on this one - the bridge on the right does not seem to add to the composition - instead - it almost takes away from it a little bit. I would almost leave the people in as it does give a sense of scale - much grander on the sculpture then I originally thought. A pleasant image overall - and an interesting looking spot!

Also a sucker for smooth water here - and this one nails it. I love the crisp focus on the rocks combined with the smooth flow of the water.
I would try raising the bottom crop just enough to eliminate the white water at the bottom right corner - to me it tries to draw me there to see what else might be there. Without it - I flow off to the sunset.
Great image - I'm ready to jump in and go for a swim (if the water is warm there!)

You nailed it with the perfect star on the sun. Did you use a filter to achieve that or the natural lense effect? Just trying to understand in case I wanted to try the same or similar effect.
Very nice shot. For me personally - the background mountains don't really add to it. I could see cropping down to just the main rock/mountain with the starbust and nothing else to let it be the "star" of the show. Sorry for the bad pun! |

Greetings Peter
I can almost feel the crisp cold air and the snowflakes blowing through the trees. Lovely capture - indeed with winter perspective instead of what most of us have seen. I wish the rising steam contrasted more with the sky - as it almost seems to cover it and feels just a little unbalanced to me. Personally - I could almost crop the sky out of it and just go with the trees and rising steam. Love the shot though - and may have to head out that way this coming winter! |
