70 Jan 22 Reply BTW, did you not receive the bio I submitted? Jan 21st
70 Jan 22 Reply Thanks Judy for that great critique. Your description parallels my assessment of the scene when I spotted it and knew I had to chronicle it. I shall keep your description of the Grand Landscape in mine as I photograph more scenes. Jan 21st
70 Jan 22 Reply Thankyou Mary. I did read in your bio that you used to live in these parts, I'll have to get your list of your favorite photogenic areas. Yes, the portrait orientation was definitely called for as I wanted the lake reflections and the mountain side and peaks all to appear in the same image. So glad you like it! Jan 12th
70 Jan 22 Reply Thank you Pierre for your great feedback. As you can see from the original I did work with those trees on the mountain to darken and create more contrast between the Evergreens and the Alders down by the shore. I love the "De-haze" slider and use it on almost all my landscapes. I did also "dodge" that hill with the brush in LR layers. There is quite a bit going on in that image. Jan 12th
70 Jan 22 Comment Such a nice image to contemplate, the contrasts in it are all well balanced: the blues and greens and the sun burst with the body of water. The people give it a nice sense of scale also. Very nice! Jan 12th
70 Jan 22 Comment A wonderful image of a sweeping landscape and you photographed it so as to really accentuate the vastness of the valley. The sun catching on that rock formation is so catching! I agree with Mary that a darker sky to contrast with the light earth could make this image even more dynamic. By use HDR it really draws one into the photo by having such a long view all in crisp detail. How many frames/exposures did you use to achieve this? Jan 12th
70 Jan 22 Comment Really lovely. The dock, purple bush and large old scraggly tree balance the architecture of the Abby so well. The reflection is wonderful. Such a pleasant image! Jan 10th
70 Jan 22 Comment I like the strong diagonal of row of grasses that leads your eye right up to the large tree. The fog is softening the details so much, it makes one really want to study the image to see what else is there to capture. The warm tones make it feel not so cold as the snow dusting might indicate. 70 Jan 22 Comment I like the simplicity of this image and the strong focus on the subject (ferry). The warmer tones give it a more pleasant emotion vs. cooler colors of a winter morning. Jan 10th
