Thanks Bob...for your feedback and the rework on my image. I will try these suggestions. I will also try to capture an image in the night when the lights are on...or perhaps do that in post processing! Thanks |

Hi Ham, I really like how you have brought out details, and the texture. "Switching on" the lights has added to the story...just wondering if it would be better if the sky is toned down just a bit to emphasise the lighting? Just a thought...great job!

Thanks Shirley. Comments noted, thanks again. But, I must say that I am not a big fan of borders. In this case, though it's a monochromatic image, there is sufficient tonal gradation to separate the image from the background. Thanks! |

Well done Angela...the flower has really come to life. The post processing has given it a nice texture and three dimensionality...Well done again!

Fred, I really like the way you have cloned added the shadows etc and thanks for sharing your steps in achieving the final results.
Yes, a ghostly bowler would have completed the story...
While you have done a great job in correcting the perspective there is a very slight barrel distortion that is still visible, which you should be able to correct in ACR or PS.
Of the location itself, I was just wondering if you had an image of this mansion, just to get an idea what this house looks like.
Great job in what you have done! |

Thanks Fred...It is a mixed development building, housing, office and commercial space.
Since of late, I have been re-working some of my images in monochrome, and this is one from my recent series. Yes, it is in total contrast to my previous submissions. Thought I'll share something different.
I have posted some on FB...the link is given below in case you wish to have a look.

Thanks Angela for the feedback.
Yes, the cobra head of the lamp post need cloning out! I frankly didn't see this, until you mentioned it!!!
With regard to the building in shadow on the right...it was left intact intentionally as I liked the play of light and shade and the shape and lines it was creating...However, considering what you and Fred have said, shall try cloning out or at least to bring back some details...
Thanks again. |
