Yes, was there on a workshop, I try to go on a few each year - it helps me get out of bed at crazy hours!
Makes sense about the stepping away with edits and your approach. I seen to always overdo it t first, then pull it back. I've been working on how I want it to look compared to what it was and try to err on the side of what I remember.
I keep going back and forth on printing myself or not. Interesting to hear you feel you've improved by printing your own work! Something else to consider! Thanks s always for your thoughts Mark.

Thanks Mark! It truly was an amazing place to shoot. What do you men by throwing caution to the wind in this instance? Do you think I should have been more aggressive with the processing?
I see what you mean on the bright patch, to me, it could go either way, I originally liked how it was a bit different from the peak in front, but see your point, it may be a tad too hot.
Thanks for the congrats! And same to you! Im intimidated by the printing entries and really enjoyed seeing your name and images! Where do you print your images? I really need to start printing mine. |

Thanks Ed! I will say, I was no where near the top for this shot - glad this brings back fond memories for you. |

Thank for the feedback! Think it is a tad too dark after looking at it again and hearing a bit of feedback from a few of you. |

Thanks! Will have to check, but I rarely use a sharpener, just the in camera stabilization. |

Thanks Jeffrey, I actually darkened the bottom a tad to frame it a bit, perhaps I did it too dark. |

I like how you composed this with the sun on the left a third of the way in. The colors are well balance with both warm and cold. I like the small break of the waves then the smooth ocean, then the burst of sun/sky.
One thing that I see is that the horizon looks a tad low on the right side? |

Ed, I agree with Paul here, technically it's in focus and has a good depth of field, but is lacking something. Have you tried it as B&W to see what that would do? Maybe boost the contrast a bit to make it stand out a bit more?
I thought I'd like to see more of a reflection, but then read your comment that it wasn't possible. |

Paul, the first thing I thought of when looking at this was "joy" and "fun"! Nice job capturing that. I like it in B&W and the reflection of the kid playing in the foreground.
I'm always hesitant to take pictures of people, but this is inspiring me to branch out. |

Mark, I like the edit you did after Stephen's suggestion. To me, my eye kept getting caught at the top of the frame, but with your new crop, it feels a bit more balanced to me.
As we can see, it's all personal preference given each of us has a different point of view which in itself, makes it a compelling image! |

Nice capture! I was in the Grand Canyon last year for monsoon season and didn't capture one lightning bolt, great job! I hear the triggers work well, did you find it successful other times as well?
I like the crop you did on this and I also like the original left side of the frame with the light there. I agree with Ed, wonder if it was possible to lighten the ground a bit more, but I do like the moodiness of it as is. |

I really like how you composed this as the lines lead you throughout the image and helps to show the sheer scale of the Great Wall. Well done!
The first thing I thought when I saw it was that you needed to add a bit of dehaze to it and boom! Paul covered it. Haven't been there yet, but need to add it to my bucket list. |
