93 Jun 23 Reply As aways, thanks for your edit suggestions! I do agree with you and Jeffrey and the foreground is a tad too dark. Jun 28th
93 Jun 23 Comment Nice use of an ultra wide here Neil. It's definitely a place where you need the sun to be lower to capture the lovely sand waves, which you have done nicely.

93 Jun 23 Comment Nice use of a long lens here and good DoF to get the three that were looking at you sharp. This shot feels intimate to me in a kind of like "hey, what's up" moment. I like how you captured and included the reflection in the sand as well. Jun 24th
93 Jun 23 Comment Paul, what an amazing opportunity to get that close to wild mustangs. The composition is well done. What f-stop did you use on this one?

I like the vignetting on this as it helps to bring your eye to the center and the two horses, but to me, the top left and bottom left are a tad too dark.

93 Jun 23 Comment Mark, having just seen glaciers in Argentina and Chile and trying to figure out the best way to capture and process them, I think you've figured it out! I really like the image from above and the curves in the terrain. If it was anything like the color of the glaciers I saw, I think you could even boost the blues a bit more here, but totally subjective. Nicely done all around. Jun 24th
93 Jun 23 Comment Were you hand held?

I like the texture of the rocks and the ripple of the water. You use of a high shutter speed captures the movement of the water quite nicely!

Totally subjective and would be a different look, I think I'd crop out some of the left as well as the top to bring a larger percentage of the image in focus.

93 Jun 23 Reply Thanks Jeffrey! To me, it has an old painting feel to it as well. I played with the dark bottom and keep going back and forth on it. Jun 24th

93 Jun 23 Reply Thanks Darcy! It was surreal watching these colors in person (while holding on for dear life in the wind!) Jun 24th
93 Jun 23 Comment They symmetry and reflections are really nice. In addition, you have "spring/summer" on the left with the green trees and "fall/winter" on the right. I like how you added contrast by adjusting the reds of the corner building.

This would be a totally different image, have you thought about duplicating, then flipping this so that you have an image with the trees on the left and then the trees on the right as well? Or perhaps the trees without leaves? Might be fun to mess around with it like that to see how it looks.

93 Jun 23 Reply Thanks Paul! I like your idea of cropping the top off, thanks for the suggestion!

As for miles, that's an interesting question and have to think about that! This trip, we drove about 680 miles once we landed in El Calafate, Argentina. This shot was in El Chaltén on the East side of the Andes about 650 miles north of the southern most tip of South America.
