Thanks Jim, yes, a bit sharper would be better, as would not having the kelp behind his neck. Thanks for your comments and will play with the image with your suggestions in mind

Great photo and story. I do see a halo around the ape and I would prefer to see the rest more in focus.
Also consider cropping the left side and making this a square format? I love that you converted the photo into B&W |

Great concept and colours. It looks like it was a fun shoot, and you are aware of the technical issues but that is something you can correct if you redo the shoot. |

Thanks for your comments Joe. It takes patience to capture a heron doing anything but standing still while they fish.
What you see is Bull Kelp which is very abundant in this area. |
