There are many eagles in our area, but this was a first for me. |

It's the other way, Wanda.
Two eagles locking talons high above the ground might look like they're risking injury, but it's a normal courtship behaviour called the "cartwheel display."
Like all raptors , the mating takes place when the female is securely standing on a perch, usually a high tree limb, and the males gently lands upon her back, using both his wings to carefully balance |

Good for you, I like their matching outfits! The lady has a wonderful smile and the pup is in focus. Well done! I did try a different crop to bring attention to their faces. |

Capturing a poignant moment in time. Well captured though I find the hair across her cheek a bit distracting, could you remove it? |

Thanks for the history of the image. Now it's on my list to visit if I ever get down to the area. There is a lot of interesting details and my eye is drawn to the cross. |

You captured a wonderful expression, very wistful.
Good choice in toning down the colours, though it seems bright and that you may have lost some detail in the face.
Great portrait shot. |
