I'm with Bunny here. The framing you've chosen for the subject hides the true scene. This seems so out of place for Vegas. You've done a great job with some harsh lighting conditions. This was in broad daylight, but you've maintained good detail in the highlights and we can see into the chapel to get a glimpse of what's going on inside. Nice work in dealing with a tough situation. Way to go, Bruce! |

There are so many layers to this image, Harley. Each is more fascinating than the next. On its own, this is a great portrait. Then you added the creative touches and took it to the next level. My gaze goes straight to the eyes, which are tack-sharp. There is movement in the hands to give motion to tell the story, and the background is exquisite. You really knocked this one out of the park. The colors work together, the crop is tight and intimate, and the composition keeps our interest within the frame. Fantastic! |

This is creepy, Mark....and I mean in a good way. We just had the judging for the photography entries for our local fair on Saturday. Someone entered an image of a hummingbird and a bee. That image was as impactful as yours is. You nailed it, as far as telling the story and having both subjects tack-sharp. (insert birds and bees joke -->here<--)
The bodies are captured perfectly, yet you've blurred the wings to give the feeling of motion. We discussed this on one of my images last month. That was absolutely the right way to handle this. Both animals are sharp and vibrant, and the bokeh in the background is nothing short of creamy goodness.
If you haven't entered this in any image competitions, you should really consider it. Way to go!
(check the rules if you enter this...sometimes they don't allow workshop images)
Either way, you nailed it. |

Ok, I'll jump on the bandwagon.
First of all, this is a wonderful image as is. You've captured the scene, maintained the incredible tonal range that was presented to you, and you gave us a look at a scene making me want to go visit. Your use of the tonal range is exquisite, Bunny. You've checked all of the boxes. The textures you have in the grasses and clouds are a smash hit, and the house gives us a great focal point.
Here's my edit, for what it's worth.
Well done! |

You did a great job to frame this image, Leo. There is just enough of the pandas' environment to give us a strong sense of place. The angles of the animals portrays the playful nature of their interaction. You can tell they're having a good time. You exposure is well handled. There are details in the shadows, and the highlights are not blown out. I really like the diagonal lines throughout the frame. It really adds interest to the scene. Nice work! |
