Bruce, this image checks all the boxes. I was really taken in by the picture, then further enthralled by your story. I absolutely love the silvertone treatment. It really helps to accentuate the texture in the clouds and the grasses and sets the mood. The bare trees and water on the road give a strong sense of time and place. The compositional elements are fabulous. The leading line of the road disappearing into the horizon, the placement of the tree, the positioning of the horizon, all excellent choices. Nice work! |

This is a wonderful image of the lion, Harley. I love the energy that comes from the facial expression and body language. The crossed paws are the cherry on the sundae. The only suggestion I have has already been addressed. The leaves on the left side being so bright and out of focus are distracting. Removing them really lets us focus on our friend here. You also did a superb job on removing the fence. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known it was there! |

Nice work, Lane. Your image really tells a strong story. The road and fence both bring wonderful leading lines to take the viewers' gaze into the frame. I really like how the sky is reflected in the puddle on the ground, giving two patches of the blue which stand out among the white of the snow. The barn, while not overpowering, is certainly visible in the frame and gives us a sense of destination. The lines lead us into the image and the barn provides a center of attention. I like the feeling this scene evokes. The lines of trees in the center of the image also pull the eye to the middle of the frame. There are so many elements that work together here to make a great piece. |

Wow, Bunny. What a great job! You nailed the painterly look. I could see this image on a calendar or greeting card. The mood you've created is magical. You're not far off from the original image you got with your phone, but the changes you made really enhance the mood. The warming up of the sky really helps create an emotion to the scene. The detail in the image remind us this is a photograph. I think you've checked off all of the boxes of creating an artistic piece that showcase your creativity. |

This image has fantastic story telling elements, Leo. I think you've captured the spirit of the event beautifully. The background of mountains and buildings gives an incredible sense of place. The flags with the helicopters and the water cannons on the boat share the feeling of celebration. The light areas of the water spraying from the boat balance well with the lighter colored building on the right. I really like how the blue of the reflections in the buildings complement with the color of the water. What a great way to show us the feeling of the celebration! |
