43 May 23 Reply Thanks, Mark. I think we got lucky with the sky while we were there. You're absoloutely right about the traffic being a distraction. I'll have to work on removing them. That's punching a little above my weight class in the editing department, but something I'd love to be better at. My sky does need a little work too. It was tough to get the detail to come out in the shadows without the highlights getting out of control. I'd like to tweak the clouds a little more. I appreciate the suggestions. May 26th
43 May 23 Reply Thanks, Bruce. Good catch. I went back and took a swipe at that line. It wasn't the cleanest removal job, but the difference was significant. There's a lot of "digital landscaping" to be done here. I'm working on noticing details like that, and appreciate your help in spotting them. May 26th
43 May 23 Reply Thank you, Linda. I had seen the building before, but don't go down to this area much. I was really impressed. I was trying to emulate a friend's image of this building. I'd like to go back by myself and spend more time shooting different angles. You're absolutely right about the black and white conversion. :-) May 26th
43 May 23 Comment What a striking image, Bruce. The range of tones throughout is breathtaking. I like how the line of the branch is parallel to the feeling I get from the feathers on the bird. The background is creamy and perfect, the textures of the branch and our friend's feathers are allowed to be appreciated. I always hear people critique wildlife pictures and point out the importance of seeing the subject's eye. I get it now. You caught the eye here, and it's tack-sharp. I really love this choice.

43 May 23 Comment Nice job with this scene, Mark. I like how the shape of the different structures is similar enough to tie the elements together, but not so similar that we get the cookie cutter feeling. The complementary red and green combination is a winner. I also like how the buildings are arranged. The diagonal from lower left to upper right is a really nice compositional element. The fog creates a calming mood and makes me spend time here. The arrangement in the frame is very pleasing, and the red elements are placed throughout the image and invite the eyes to wander throughout the frame. May 26th
43 May 23 Comment I really like this image. The low angle and dust absolutely create a mood that is perfect for this scene. I also like the pano presentation. It helps convey the motion. I was contemplating the crop before I scrolled down and saw Mark and Bruce's suggestions. The rider shouldn't be dead center in the frame. I wasn't sure which side should be trimmed, but I agree with Mark's solution here. The sun on the right side pairs nicely with the visual weight of the darkness in the right side of the image. Plus, it feels like the rider is going to pass through that side of the frame. The warm colors create a fantastic feeling, and the way the sky fades into the blue is very calming. Nice job, Linda!
