There's nothing wrong with trying something outside of what we normally do. I felt kind of weird about street photography, but am really intrigued now, and am trying to do more when I can. |

Thank you, Mark. The background is really a challenge. It's also so similar in color to the chimps. I've taken several images there, and the subject matter is wonderful, but I have to (ahem) monkey with the background a lot. Yes, pun intended...I'll go now. |

Thanks, Lane. You're right. The soft light was a blessing. I've been there when the sun was really harsh. It was midday, which didn't help either. |

I don't work on still life images as much as I should. I really enjoy the idea, and I think you've come up with a fantastic work here, Bruce. You've picked up the texture of the coins, and have really used selective focus perfectly here. The coin in the foreground is beautifully represented. The coins in the background are just out of focus enough to maintain our attention to the coin in the front, but there's just enough detail remaining. I'd say you picked up the concept they were trying to pass on in your class. Great job! |

Last night I watched a presenter speak to one of my clubs about presenting just part of a scene as an abstract image. I think this is exactly what she was talking about, and I really like it. The colors work very well together. (Red and green, who knew?) The texture and detail is well represented throughout the frame. I haven't done much focus bracketing, but I love the idea and want to try it. I think you did a great job here, Harley. Nice work! |

I really like this image, Mark. I've recently become a fan of multi-image panoramas, and I think you nailed this one. The exposure throughout the frame is very well handled. There is detail in the darker areas, and the lighter areas of the windows are not blown out. The only thing I would have done differently is to pan a skosh to the right, to give some symmetry. You can just barely see the edge of the flag on the right. I'd trade part of the flag on the left to show more of the flag on the right. You also have a little more of the floor on the left, that would look nice with some balance on the right. Other than that, this image is fantastic! |

I like how you captured the scene, Lane. Your choice of shutter speed gave wonderful motion to the water. You've captured the detail in the rocks and the leaves, and your colors are well saturated. I also like the use of the vignette to keep the viewer's attention within the image. The only suggestion I would make is to show more of the water in the bottom of the frame, and trade that by getting rid of some of the negative space in the upper part of the frame. You handled this scene well. |

This image really sets the mood, Linda. You've done a wonderful job in capturing the scene. There is just enough color in the frame to give vibrance to the image, but the fog really establishes the sense of place. The birds help to give the scene life, yet maintains the peaceful nature of the image. I like how the boats give way to the pilings, which seem to disappear into the fog, and the reflections keep my gaze within the frame. Very well done! |

This is a great image, Leo. I really like how the color and activity keep my attention in the middle of the frame. The focus and exposure are perfect throughout the image. The activity you've captured keeps my interest inside the image. There's a sense of peace to the scene, and a wonderful sense of place to the image. Very well done! |
