Wow, Linda! It's amazing how relatively minor changes can have a great impact on an image. The changes you've made are small, but they add up to a lot. I appreciate your thoughts and work. I like what you did with it! |

I like that, Mark. I think just a little green would really add something. Thanks for seeing it differently. Selective color has so many layers, it's fun to explore all of them.

That's a really great observation, Lane. I hadn't thought of it that way. I like that idea, thanks! |

Look at that, Harley! It would have never occurred to me to move the stem behind, but I really like it! Thanks for helping me look at the scene differently. |

I appreciate your thoughts. I've got to work on the details. I get lost in the overall creation of the image and tend to miss the small things, like the fringing. Good catch. |

I love the energy in this image, Bruce. I think you captured a wonderful moment, and I think you need to give a workshop on how to get birds to pose for pictures. At first, I thought you had parts of the tree sticking up behind the herons' heads, then I realized they have bedhead! The light on the subjects is wonderful, right down to the catch lights in their eyes. You've separated them from their background well, and I really like the framing element that the leaves in the front give us. The only thing I'd do differently is to clone out the couple of bright spots in the background, in the upper right corner of the frame. Other than that, I really like this. Nice work! |

I like the moment you've captured here, Harley. The time of day was perfect. The warm color and texture on the limpkin (I learned a new word today!) really makes this image pop. You did a nice job separating our friend from the background. I agree with Mark that the ripples around the feet really add something to the image. The snail is almost a distraction, but knowing now that this is what limpkins eat, it gives the image a purpose. Nice work! |

I apologize for my lack of participation last round but am glad we're back in action. I love the detail you've captured in the blooms, Mark. I think you captured this image at the perfect time of day. The light gives great texture and color throughout the image, and just when I'm enjoying moving through the frame, there's a bee! Very cool. The light on the wings and the detail it provides are wonderful. The placement of the flowers just off center is great. The only suggestion I would have is to give it a little tighter crop and lose the parts on the right edge of the frame. Other than that, I really like what you've done here. |

Very nice work, Lane. I love the treatment you've given the image, it almost doesn't look like a photograph. I feel like I'm looking at a painting, but it's almost like the detail sneaks up on me. It's a really cool effect. The warm color palette you've used is very warm and soothing. A very creative idea executed well. |

Linda, I just love to gaze at this image and wander around. You captured a wonderful scene. The detail and exposure on the flowers in the foreground are wonderful. The overall color theme throughout the image is terrific. I love the other photographer in the image. It gives us a specific point of interest, and the clothing even goes well with the surroundings. If I had a magic wand, I'd use it in two places. One, the horizon. There may have been a slope to the land, but my eyes want the horizon to be straight. The other thing I would be interested to see is a gradient on the sky and punch up the detail and contrast in the clouds. Even without those things, this is simply gorgeous and I thank you for sharing it with us |

I'm going to say this up front, I'm an airplane geek. Without the plane, this is an exceptional image. The colors are remarkable. The exposure latitude is terrific. You have detail in the shadows, and the highlights of the sun reflecting on the water shows the texture of the waves. This image has leading lines for days. The bridge and approach lights bring my eyes directly into the center of the image, and they stay in the image. Oh, and there's an airplane? Yes please! Wonderful work, Leo. |
