This image just pops. I really like the story being told here. The details in both the flowers and the bee are tack sharp. The time of day gives wonderful shadows that really helps with the definition of texture throughout the image. The green on the unopened bud next to the open blossom really adds to the feel of the image. I also like how the light accentuates the texture of the edges of the green on the unopened bud. Absolutely wonderful, Bruce. |

The colors in the trees are exquisite. Being in the desert, I really admire other parts of the country that get such a display in the fall. The sky is also wonderful, with the shades and textures you show in the clouds. The only thing I can think of would be to crop out the bottom of the frame. There is not enough of the path showing to tell part of the story in the image. Also, the dead wood in the lower left and blue of the signs are a little distracting. Other than that, I love the different shades in the tree canopies. Great job, Harley. |

I really like the choice of colors here. I know red and green are complementary, but these shades really seem to work together really well. The texture really comes through in the details. All of the lines are wonderful here, both the lines leading you to the center of the image, and the ridges in the green surrounding the center. The only thing I would have changed would a little more depth of field to keep the whole image in focus, though the selective focus adds something here. Nicely done, Mark. |

This image grabbed me. I am a nerd for black and white, and this is a perfect illustration of why. This is an exquisite execution of a feeling. If this was just the landscape, without the cemetery, I don't think the monochrome would be as powerful. This story needed to be black and white. the positioning of the larger tree is perfect, with the lighter elements of the clouds between the ridges of the hills. The hills themselves are wonderful framing elements to bring our eye to the tree, then down throughout the image. The tonal range and exposure are right on the money. There is serenity balanced wonderfully with drama here. Very well executed, Lane. |

This is a wonderful image. The placement of the glass is wonderful. Juuuust off center gives the image a certain symmetry, but it's not dead center. I really like the petals that lead the viewer's eye into the image, and the lighter color of the flower through the glass keeps the eye inside the image. The other blooms also act as framing and leading elements to bring us to the middle. The one flower, lower right, seems a little out of place, being pink. I would also be curious to see the glass without the condensation. The texture it adds is a little distracting. I really like the edge lighting on the glass, giving the shape definition, but is not overpowering. |

I really like how the vibrance of the houses complements the more subdued tones of the sky and water. The brightness of the boats and buildings lead the viewer's eye into the middle of the image. The time of day and lack of people in the frame give a feeling of serenity to the scene. The only change I would bring up would be a tighter crop on the top of the frame to eliminate some of the negative space. A letterbox format might emphasize the horizontal element of the image. Very nice work, Leo. |
