15 Dec 24 Comment Sarita, gorgeous image - you got the moment! I like the blurred background. However, I agree that the heavy crop takes away from the crispness and detail of the shot. You must have been far away because I see you used a 500mm lens. Dec 17th
15 Dec 24 Comment Hi Kathy, the image and the action are great. I love seeing the 2 sets of eyes of the bird and the fish - scared and happy.. ! I agree with others that the lack of sharpness makes it hard to go for a tighter crop. Dec 17th
15 Dec 24 Comment Jerry you were so lucky to get such a clear shot of the owl and you did a great job with the sharpness. I really like the facial expression. I agree with the closer cropping. Dec 17th
15 Dec 24 Comment Amazing image, great colors and composition. You did such a great job at getting the action and also very sharp. Impressive. Dec 17th
15 Dec 24 Comment Isaac Beautiful image - really seems the bird is posing for you. I agree with others that the light is magnificent. I also like the blurred background. Dec 16th

95 Dec 24 Reply Thanks to both for your comments. Yes next time I'll play with different depths of field… Barnacles are definitely strange and are very interesting, I do have a few macro shots of them and I can presented them in the coming months. Dec 22nd

95 Dec 24 Comment I like shots like this one that get closer in to use macro capabilities to show details in nature. They get closer to abstraction. I agree with Margaret on ideally getting more DOF - but maybe you actually wanted the softer texture. Dec 17th
95 Dec 24 Comment John, I really like the colors and the composition. When I opened it, it felt like seeing a flash of fireworks coming at me. The image projects energy and beauty. Dec 17th
95 Dec 24 Comment You did a good job with the handheld. Yes, could be sharper but you got quite a lot of detail. Dec 17th
95 Dec 24 Comment Stuart, I really like this image - almost a still life painting! Everything super sharp and I also like the texture and the subtle shades of brown/beige. And you must have a steady hand to have done it handheld. Dec 17th
95 Dec 24 Comment Margaret, wow what an interesting and beautiful image. The one thing is that the inside looks sharper in the original than in this version - but it might be just an impression. Dec 17th
