15 Jul 24 Reply Thanks Tom, I see your point. Thanks for the suggestion. Although I do like the frigate birds flying in the background... Jul 23rd
15 Jul 24 Reply Thank you Sarita, looking forward to your feedback on my other Galapagos' birds shots! Jul 23rd
15 Jul 24 Comment Sarita, great image - I agree with Kathy's comments. I also think you did a great job with the blacks, it is always a challenge to shoot black animals. Jul 12th
15 Jul 24 Comment Pei-Fan, this is a very nice image. I like the colors and the composition. Also it is nice to see them in a natural behavior. My only suggestion would be to maybe have also the foreground grass a bit blurred so we focus solely on the 2 birds. Jul 12th
15 Jul 24 Comment Hi Jerry, I agree with comments of others on avoiding distracting elements next time. In terms of getting full bird, as I am a novice in bird photography, what if in this case the image is cropped to focus only on the face and thus avoid the distractions?

15 Jul 24 Comment Very nice image -elegant birds, I get the impression they are dancing. Very sharp faces. Hope you catch the black swan next time. Jul 12th
15 Jul 24 Reply Thank you Jim, very useful. Jul 12th
15 Jul 24 Comment Kathy, very interesting bird and beautiful colors. I really like that you were able to get the eyes looking at you. I feel that creates a narrative of a moment of intersection of both worlds. I also like the background green colors of the leaves that contrast with the green of the crest. Jul 8th
15 Jul 24 Comment Isaac, what a great shot. I really like the sharpness of the heads and the expressive eyes looking at each other. And then the movement of the rest of the body that conveys action. The colors and texture are also very pleasing. Jul 8th
15 Jul 24 Reply Thank you Kathy. Jul 8th

95 Jul 24 Comment Hi Carol, I really like the new version that you posted following Stuart's comments. Gorgeous composition and colors, I also like that you can feel the bee working. Jul 23rd
95 Jul 24 Comment Hi Keith, the set up is very interesting and also the color combinations. I agree with others that the blurred pot and the texture of the flooring are distracting. I also think that maybe the focus should be on the plant itself and getting that sharp all around, maybe eliminating the pot from the composition. Jul 23rd
95 Jul 24 Comment Hi John and welcome, nice flower and great colors. I do think placing it off center a bit would enhance the composition. Also, maybe blurring the green areas around it a little so the eye focuses on the flower itself. Jul 12th
95 Jul 24 Comment Hi Pat, wonderful result - and thanks for sharing photoshop option. I also think image would be even more stunning if you focused on the central flower. Jul 8th
95 Jul 24 Comment Hi Stuart, I agree with Margaret that more cropping would highlight the fly, which looks really sharp. I really like the weed too - the combination of purple, red and burgundy is very pleasing. Jul 8th
95 Jul 24 Comment Margaret, this is way beyond my technical depth to comment.. but in terms of image I find the colors gorgeous and the patterns fascinating. I kept looking at it, trying to identify patterns embedded in the abstract image. Clearly you are going in the right direction in terms of creating beautiful images. Jul 8th
95 Jul 24 Reply Margaret, thanks for the tip. I do have a 50mm prime lens, will try it and compare results next time. Jul 8th
95 Jul 24 Reply Thanks Stuart, useful comments for the future. Jul 8th

96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Viren, beautiful Mosque. I also like the clean, crisp lines of the building. Black and White works very well. The van is a bit distracting. I do think that the focus of the image should be the building itself - hence I like the cropping proposed by Robert. Jul 23rd
96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Bruce, very nice abbey. I also like the contrast in your image. I agree with Robert that the flowers/plants are a bit of a distraction - blurring them helps. One option is cropping as Robert says, the other is to open up the image and place the abbey more within its surroundings allowing a bit more space. Jul 23rd
96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Rick, this is a very nice image. And I like that it is in black and white as the focus is on the shapes themselves. I wish you had a bit more of the foreground to have the full reflection of the buildings. I agree with Robert's comments on the clouds and on cropping the left side to eliminate the half building. Jul 23rd
96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Robert, I truly like your image - seems almost a painting to me. I like how the trees in the foreground are very sharp and then the storm increasingly takes over the other trees and they dissipate in the distance. The color combination is also very pleasing to the eyes. Wonderful shot.

As this is my last month with this group, I take this opportunity to thank you Robert for your insightful comments and very efficient administration of the Scapes group.

96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Howard, this image has great light and has potential. I really like the reflections of the sky on the water. I agree with Robert that the color adjustments seem a bit unnatural and the trees in the background are too dark and have no shape. I also feel the image is not level. Jul 18th
96 Jul 24 Comment Hi Haru, I really like the geometric arrangement of nature and also the reflections in the water. I like that my eyes try to figure out the triangles, squares an other shapes and the image keeps changing as those shapes form. I also like the silver frame. I agree with others that it is a bit busy, however I am not sure what to crop. Jul 18th
