I agree a slightly faster shutter speed may have sharpened the bird a bit more. Maybe a bit less contrast would be helpful too. All in all, though, a very good picture I'd be proud to have shot |

Great capture, I guess this was an image within a burst, Looks like the bird is just about to complete his landing an kicked up that seed by his eye. |

Agree with Tom. The dof makes the grass essentially invisible till you concentrate on it. Focus is great |

Not sure which Silver FX filter I used, as I must have made other tonality adjustments in LR. Probably "Structural...smooth".Attached is original, 1/40, 7.1, iso 500, 60mm macro.. Agree it could be sharper. I must have messed with the filters 100 times before selecting one. Possibly it would have come out better if I had given my eyes a break. Thanks for your and Gunter's thoughts.
