I think the original background is best. When compelled to think about it, I can imagine in the submitted image the bird may have been perched in front of a snow covered wall. But mostly my first response is also "what?". I do admire the creativity here. I wonder if an interesting version could be had by blurring, liquifying, or otherwise abstractifying the substituted background. |

Agree with previous comments, especially the funny blue item at rear of bird's head. Maybe it's a globule of water? (doubt it).
I'm going to guess the duck is eating a mussel of some sort..... |

The hen"s head was definitely selected....I missed the residuals of that step!
Indeed the image was a bit soft, probably mostly because of the heavy magnification.
I like the drake reflection; couldn't do too much with the hen's reflection for fear of producing an impossible reflection view. However, I may yet try as the hen's reflection is just complicated .
Tom, I like your improvements. Thanks |

Excellent capture. You might consider decreasing or otherwise changing the blue in the sky to accentuate the birds' blue feathers. I remember the first time I saw a Scrub jay in the bright morning light; the bird's blue was actually somehow beautifully "different". |

One can almost hear his song! Perfect dof. I had no idea they lived so long.
Thanks for the cheery photo!

I've never seen CG chicks. Nice capture, looks like mother let you get fairly close @ 175mm.. I prefer the square crop but just by a hair. Stay away from them 'gators. |

The core of that galaxy is very bright in actuality. I tried to reduce it but lost some structure in the process, despite trying to mask with feathering.. I like Gunter's version better.
No traditional telescope involved. The SeeStar produced the image and LR did the rest |

Great morning landscape. When you were managing the colors, did you alter the hue or intensity of the beautiful but deeply yellow sky> |

I love the general feel and mood of the image. However, the geology confuses me a bit...bluff or cliffs near the shore? It's so precise as to nearly look manmade. Undoubtedly a very pretty spot |

Really a pretty piece of art. I like the background too. Keeping some fall plants and flowers in deterioration for use in the winter is a good idea. |
