Yeah.. with in-camera focus stacking, you cannot control which part should be in-focus and which part should not. The image looks more focused on the flower (main subject) while the branches were blurred and darkened.
I applaud your experimenting with different ways of reflectors, resulting to such details on the white petals - which I really enjoyed while viewing this photo. Something I have just learned. Thanks, Stuart. |

Interesting picture. Good subject to capture. I guess the crab was moving somewhat while you were photographing (1/10 s) which resulted to a lesser sharp image than you would like. Maybe using the camera built-in focus stacking function (as suggested by Stuart) is something to try. Thanks for sharing such an interesting subject. |

Hi Margaret,
Very nice reflection picture. The row of 3 water drops provides a bit different perspective and projects some depth among the 3 reflected 'lenses'. Love that. I guess using flash light as light source may have increased the level of challenge in capturing the perfect photo, as compared to using studio lights? Just want to learn more about a different approach. Thanks.

Hi Margaret. Welcome to the group.
Thanks for your comments and suggestion.
I think the white spots on the flower pistil are natural.
What I was not so happy with the image is that, after auto adjustment by ACR, the image's contrast and saturation seems to be a bit over. I agree that the pinkish red is an attractive colour.

Thanks, Stuart.
I searched with Google Lens and got a similar name for this flower species. Hmm.. I may have mixed up this photo with my images taken in a water lily farm last Summer.
Yes, using a f/3.2 was my oversight.. |
