Great capture, Fran. The inside part of the lily is well in focus, as per your title. I would think it helps the audience's quick attention to the centre by softening a bit more those green stems outside of the white flower petals.. A nice eye-pleasing image. Thanks. |

I think it's extremely difficult to capture focus stacking images without a tripod. The eyes are in focus.. guess this is the only part you planned for your focus stacking effect? There are light reflections on the body that you may want to fix in the final stacked image?
Btw, what is the bottom left diagonal border that blocks parts of the legs (which are well in-focus). My guess is the paper needed to maintain /stabilize the insect?
This is a great effort employing focus stacking on a live insect close-up.. very hard to do. Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks, Carol. The blurred tips of the petals are due to handheld capture (even with 1/1600s). I was attracted by the beautiful colour contrast. Agreed that this is not an image for the nature category.. Hence I was attempting to make it an artistic presentation.. The blurred tips could help: My starting path in learning how to create artistic images through a macro lens.. Guess more exposure to these kinds of images would help.. Do we have such category in our PSA galleries? |

Thanks, Gloria. I was trying to present an artistic view.. Yeah.. It looks like the star pattern is floating.. :) |

Is this a part of a concrete wall? Guess the black hole is the subject that pulls audiences' attention?
However, a more attractive subject would help provide some impact to eye-sight. The diagonal crack provides a good lead-in. Just my 2 cents. |

Echoing Stuart.. I think I would try focus-stacking to capture this image. The in-camera focus stacking function could produce a dissent result if we take sufficient varied-focus shots. |

Super sharp image. Just wondering how you added the background? Did you pin it up with a blue background with a blurred green stem or leaf?
I have also tried Google Lens to search for matching flower.. although it shows some ball-park matches, but not likely a good fit. |

Good points, Stuart.. I was too focused on the star-shaped pattern, and missed excluding the stem while softening and dimming the background. This current image is not presenting a flower as what it should be. Good observation. Thanks. |
