Thanks very much, Tom.. Looks like the product is not offered in amazon.ca.. Will see if it delivers to Canada.
By the way, I assume we only need the rail slider that slides sideway?
Thanks again for your help. |

Thanks, Tom for the tips.
I do not have a focusing rail. What I did was setting up on a tripod with 'consistent' lighting (this case a macro ring flash - but taking alternate left and right panel flashes). Maybe this is the problem..
Also, I started from focusing the farthest point, then moving down to the closest focus points. I take 2 shots (left and right flash) for each focus point.
I'll change my setting & process the way you suggested and see what may turn out. Hope I do not need a focus rail at this point? |

Hi Gloria, thanks for your message. Yep.. I'll re-take with a less-distracting background.. Great hearing that you are interested in learning focus stacking as well. This was my first attempt.. inspired by reading from the experts on this group.. Thankfully. Keep playing and learning.. |

Nice angle on the hibiscus flower and stem.. I like the direction of the light source. Agreed that the butterfly is still distracting. |

Amazing 'light-work' on the subject. I can see it is on-focus the whole picture... Amazed by the clear views of the plant showing every 'white hair' on the whole plant.. Nicely done! |

Another interesting view of the crystal stone.. Very nice.
I was just wondering that you want to use the bottom left out-of-focus corner to show the crystal rock's size/depth? Your colour balance is eye-pleasing. |

Thanks, Carol. There must be some wrong option that I have selected while merging the 12 images using PS stacking.
Agreed that; may be try one without stacking using f/10.
As Stuart said, the the picture is a bit tight.. I will try to allow more room and showing some shadow next time.
Overall, I was a bit too rush doing this.. Will try again.
Thanks all for the encouragement. |

Agreed, Stuart.
For sure this is not a good outcome from focus stacking. I will try again with a bit different approach.
Good point about the green background. It was just the table was available handy.. Bad choice on my part. A learning experience for me. |
