I like the details in the spider and that you have captured it suspended on a string of silk. The dark background definitely sets him off. Great for October! |

Gloria- I agree with some other comments that the image would benefit from better focus on the stamens and anthers. Triptychs are a lot of fun and I think the 3 images that you are using go together nicely to capture the essence of the hibiscus.
And a comment about Lenswork- it is a great publication to which I have subscribed for years. There are a variety of genres in the different issues and portfolios from landscape to macro. And if it is cost prohibitive to ship across the pond, Stuart, you can get an online subscription to Lenswork. Try this link. https://www.lenswork.com/ |

Great job being handheld and getting images to stack. That is a technique that I have not tried, but you all seem to get great images using the stacking. I like the blur maintained in the background as well. |

Carol- I love this little crab. The iridescent colors in the shell are really nice and the water sheen on the shell and the rock is nice. I love the seashore. I don't mind the out of focus areas at all as the little guy's face is what counts here. |

The tight crop does definitely capture the snail- the colors that you picked up in the shell are beautiful. And the dark color of the water and the cupping as Carol said really add to the image. Really nice. |

I love the repetition of the spirals in the image and the contrasting colors of red and green. The highlights on the tops of each spiral and then the red in the deeper parts add depth to the image. I like it a lot. |

Thanks Gloria. I am always late with my comments, and I can't blame it on a visiting mom! Hope you had a great visit and I appreciate your comment. |

Thanks Carol. I too like the diagonal line of the main vein. Diagonals seem to give images some movement. |

Sharpening I think doesn't create the feeling I wanted for this particular image. As Carol indicated, the subtle softness does give it a different feel. And with the slight variation in the plane of the leaf, it does fall off some. |

Thanks Pat. Fall is my favorite season and I like trying to get the small details to illustrate it. |

I tried the monochrome treatment, but I really do like the colors in this. Always a good thought to try though. |

Thanks for the comments. Yes the patterns in the veins and the colors are what drew me to this image. And appreciate that you like the crop. |
