Love the diagonal line and the similar coloration of insect and wood. And the yellow pearl of some kind of secretion makes it even more interesting. Great use of the phone camera to get so close up. |

Great capture of the face- the darker tones make it look even more "beastly" to great effect. Definitely spooky for October! |

I really like the textures and lines on the diagonal. There are 2 triangles created in the image, which I like as a composition. I wonder if you flipped the image if it would look even more like mountains and an abstract landscape. Just a thought. |

Stuart this is a lovely image. I experienced this plant for the first time this year and tried hard to capture its essence. You have done that, and I agree with Carol's comments. Love it. |

I like your happy oyster and idea that is smiling. The selective focus on the opening and the barnacles below calls attention to that. I think the crop is good- if you cut off the soft area in the top, you would lose the shape of the oyster, so I like it. |

Thanks everyone. I was happy with this image and I appreciate your comments. It could be sharper, but the placement of the flower of the bee was intentional. Bees on sunflowers are a common event here every summer. (Montana) |
