Interesting perspective with one eye so huge and in your face. This looks like a good try with focus stacking, and not sure if your other thoughts for B&W or high key would work. Perhaps both together? Sorry, not much help on this one. |

Great image and really nice for hand-held. The shape of the flower and the colors are stunning. If all the tips were in focus as Carol says, it would be even better. But it is kind of artistic with the blur. Pretty either way. |

Curious abstract- like the diagonal line. I am wondering if this is exposed rock or coral at the beach with a hole in it from some creature? Otherwise, I am with everyone else about a rock wall or perhaps a sidewalk. |

Stuart- the focus stacking certainly makes everything sharp. I can see how this is helpful with a flower like this with the pistil so far extended out from the rest of the flower. Love the colors. And your patience for taking and stacking all 137 frames. That's a lot. :) |

I am more in agreement with Carol- if what you were after was abstract, then I think you got it. You could lighten up on the specular highlights a little- maybe increase a little clarity. But with a tight crop, sometimes it is hard to keep really sharp focus. Next time perhaps you could try your macro lens and move in a little closer to isolate your subject. Extension tubes will let you get closer too. |

Hi everyone- thanks for all your comments. I did 2 edits based on those and have attached. The overall blue tone came from the blue hour against an almost white background, so I adjusted the color temperature and brightened up the petals, and in one cropped tighter. See if any improvements or if I have gone too far. Thx |
