Hi Carol- I really like the blurred background vignette. It really makes my eye focus on the center of the flower, and the structure of the pistil and stamen are captured in great detail. I also like that those spots of red are repeated in the red spots of the petal. Reminds me very much of images done with my Lensbaby lens. Lovely. |

Hi Pat- it is the little details like this that we see and most folks do not. I agree with the other comments regarding the composition and color palette- very restful- which is also captured in the implied circles in the composition. I need to pay more attention to these mundane details. Love it. |

Agree with the other comments. Focus stacking really works in this photo- frost is hard to capture the details of the crystals. I like the composition, and the light is beautiful. |

Gloria- I too find the softness in the orange creature to be not pleasing, as Carol said. The original sea fan is lovely. I hope that you have the best of luck with the new cameras- I am in the market myself. I am also interested in your impermanence series- that offers up a lot of possibilities for lots of comparative photos. |

Hi everyone- thanks for your comments. However, this is a macro shot and the twig with lichen is true to life size in the photo. The little pine cone is smaller than half my pinky nail. I was trying to show the lichen covered twig in its environment on the forest floor, therefore all the tiny mosses loom large. I see what you are saying about the image being a little too busy and I could crop in somehow, but this was the macro shot on the forest floor. Sharp all the way through with the f stop used- that was the experiment of the day. |
