Tom- I looked this up and it appears to be the flower of a Mock Strawberry/ False Strawberry/ Indian Strawberry- scientific name is Potentilla indica |

Carol- I agree that getting rid of the background stems and adding your bokeh really improved this. A little less brightness on the melon would keep your eye following the lines to the stem. The flip and reading from left to right is something that has been brought to my attention in my images as well- interesting what happens when you flip it.
I like the overall feeling. |

I love this image- capturing details in the drops is a challenge that I want to learn. I agree with many of the comments and really can't add anything. The spiral really gives the image depth and movement. |

Again, soft is not necessarily bad, especially in images like this. The stamens in the center look almost translucent- very pleasing. Perhaps a little crop on the bottom might help, but the center of the flower draws your eye in.
By the way, this looks like a mini version of a potentilla- it is definitely in the rose family- Rosacea- 5 petals, 5 sepals. (I was a biology major- did too much botany) |

Very interesting image of the bands of leather. The out of focus area at the top makes the image fade off into the distance and you really don't know where it will end. I agree that soft focus areas in macro shots work sometimes and sometimes not. I like this- the patterns are nice. |

Stunning image- flower petals often look translucent like this close up, and your focus stacking really brings that out. Love the composition and black background. |

Definitely an interesting abstract with the crop and all the details. On the original, it appears that there are barnacles attached to the oyster- another picture within the picture. Always so much fun to find these images out there in nature. |

Everyone- thanks for all the comments. I agree with the idea of the corner being too dark- I like it cloned out the way Tom did it. Thanks- great idea.
The f22 on macro shots is new to me and I like the clarity it gives the image throughout. |
