Hi Ed. Very interesting image with a very strong focal point. It works because you have enough depth of field to still show the landscape. I love this type of landscape. The colour of the grass balances wel with the strong foreground |

Hi Bob.Lovely mood in the image. This image just screams for a graduated neutral density filter over the sky to darken the bright parts by a few stops. I also think the rocks at the bottom is neither in or out and does not do much for hte composition |

Hi Carol. Beautiful colours. I love the idea that you gave the water more space. I would even consider take a bit more off the top. But overall lovely image |

Hi Darcy. I love the pillars against the sky and water. I do however wonder as a landscape whether it really has the maximum impact. I would maybe if it was my image gone closer and focused on the pillars against the sky. Loose the rock on the left and a bit of the foreground. That makes more of a pictorial or architectural image. But I love the textured pillars. I would just say maximise that.

Hi Dawn, this is one of those images that you either love or hate. I love it. The simplicity and the colours just works. It's not about the trees and details it is a piece of art for me that I appreciate. Under normal photographic "rules" this breaks everything we learnt. But it absolutely works for me. Love it.

Hi Tom. I think you have done really well with the wide angle lens. I love the idea that you went close to the subject. The horse. In a Scape section of a competition I do think the horse overpowers your building at the back. However, I think what makes this work despite the big horse is the colour of the background. The Rich colours gives the background a lot of attention aand in a. strange way it balances with the huge horse. Without the good rich light on the building I think this would have failed. But you have done well on this one. |
