Great color, simple and very effective composition (I have no problem with the decision for the even number of flowers!). The jet black background absolutely works--it really puts the viewer's attention on the subject. |

That is really great manipulation! I could recognize the elements but couldn't figure out what it would have been from, until of course I looked at the original. Love the blue color, as well as the bricks retaining their color but staying a bit muted. |

Gret shot and processing! It has a serene feeling yet has the feeling of an impending (or at least distant) storm. A agree with Belinda, my initial thought was you could crop just a bit off the foreground--it doesn't add to the photo and would move the emphasis back to the subject and more interesting sky. I was going to also suggest cropping a tiny bit on the left, but as I played with it I don't think that would work or help. |

Great story, Like Mervyn I like that the runner behind the main subject is blurred but still recognizable (including his general expression). I also like that you rendered in B+W, it puts the emphasis on the expression. |

One thing I have learned is that one can take a "blah" image and with just a bit of adjustment (in some case a lot of adjustments) it can be transformed into an excellent photo. You have done that here.
I concur with Belinda's comments--you might try punching up the sky a bit, maybe slightly adjust the color/tone, and maybe get the foreground to stand out more. I know the original lighting on the ground is a bit "blah" so will be hard to get much more--maybe more contrast or "Clarity" (clarity is a Capture One adjustment; I think others will have something similar). |

Thank you! I missed posting last month; I hadn't gotten myself organized yet. I plan to be much more consistent in the future! I am enjoying seeing everyone else's images. I am with a photo group in my area that has a similar group periodically--a friendly discussion about our images, meant for getting input/suggestions as this group does. Great idea, and I look forward to more. |

Thank you! Are you referring to the small dark spot close the the upper right? Good point, although of course it is a genuine shadow it doesn't add and would be a bit nicer without. |
