I can identify with chasing a subject either because it is moving or the wind is moving it. wow - thanks for the other photo - I did not know ladybugs took that form with wing open like that. the ladybug is a good subject for macro - can fit the whole bug in. closed wing- I can't find a good focused point and it looks like it is moving... next time for focus. highlights on one side to fix. thinking of angles - next time if you change the angle can you get at least 1 leg on the other side. face and body set up look good. even though it is so small it calls out for some stacking or just a super focused face if the body is soft focus for non stack / outside handheld shooting. the open wing is the winner photo. |

nice to get the alternate view of a closed flower rather than the drama of an open flower. my eye saw the highlights on top first. other than redoing the exposure I would try to photoshop out those highlights. next my eye went to the background and a stark shadow - would replace that also. filling in with tan that you can copy from the rest of background is an easy first choice .... but then again replacing the whole background might be prettier. like Carol I have been making my own backgrounds even though I have not used them enough yet. but this month is bring it up as a good option for all of us to think about. |

love this image. I can appreciate how nice the bubbles look and the ability to achieve it [I quickly tried a version of this recently and found out like you a round glass was not working, and background /reflections were not right - so you got it!]. good and focused detail of the 3 layers and bubbles. I could be tempted to lighten the shadow on the left then again not doing it lends to letting the light be natural and asymmetrical which I also like - personal choice or a mood of the day. |

lovely crystals - great subject for a macro photo. great that made the background blue it really says COLD. I think it works that you have the 1 whole crystal in the middle but surround it with fragments of other crystals - they enhance rather than steal the show of the main crystal. |

lovely red - vibrant! I agree with the above for cropping in - the dark shadow gaps around the periphery were distracting. I also like the square crop that Cheryl did. |

love the spring PINK! the flower looks so nice and overall photo calming/uplifitng. centers look really focused - the one flower is more focused but the other even with a softer focus looks good - signs of a macro photo - and you said handheld!!! little "hairs" are good. you muted the green which I think is good and I am glad you added the pink background - both colors in the flower so great matching bkgd. muted stem looks good but the floating flowers did not bother me in the first place. |
