thanks Stuart I enjoy the references. since I had a new rail that had more length to it I was very technical for this shoot. just move the rail from one notch to the next for a long length - to get the certain # of disc in focus. [p.s I am cleaning house a little that is why I found one of my son's old toys - this is a keeper toy]. |

B&W kind of pops! I think of it as taken environmentally.... of course other flowers are next to it and in the photo...I like the distraction of the other partial petals. |

after quickly looking at the bristly hairs, my eye went to the spider web! web and the biggest "hairs" are the in-focus areas. colors are really nice. not sure what the background is on the right - did you put a light black vingnette on or does the background have shadows on the edges? |

love the colors of the bee and flower - all purple and yellow. looking closer if does look soft on the focus. it is hard to get a bee at all for a macro so this is a feat in itself. |

Gloria, sorry to hear about your mom's passing. the red pepper is great. the trail of pepper are perfect by being out of focus. I would crop out some background to get rid of highlight [take of top left corner] and decrease highlight in spots. I like the green background to dominate the background. |

Margaret, pretty flower. this lens give good focus throughout. I almost said get rid of the black spot then realized it was an insect. the pink petals look in focus and the center pulls my eye to it. light on the pink petal is very nice and soft then the background fades into black which is nice so that the eye does not leave the pink petals. no comments on macro or lenses from me. |
