95 Jul 24 Comment I like the weed Stuart. I did notice the fly but since it is stacked i like seeing the "hairs" pop out of the weed. I like the blurred background thus can focus on the total weed - but it has competing parts that are all nice to view... purple flower, hairs, green, red leaf parts and of course the fly. with this stacking the fly is only 1/4 parts. 95 Jul 24 Comment I see the bee!!! the front of the bee as the main event, so that is a success. if it was stacked [which would been impossible with a bee subject] then it would have been a competition between a bee and a piece of the flower. so macro on the bee and blurred flower makes a pleasing photo. I like that all the background is blurred and a nice green. I agree with shifting it/clone out the bottom purple and deemphasizing the bright yellow in the stem. so cheers to the redo you made. 95 Jul 24 Comment Hi John, Welcome. Pretty flower...I do like looking at the flower but agree that I would do something different with the background. changing the level of shadows and like Gloria said blurring the background more so that the leaves are barely noticed. I do feel the need to photoshop those highlights on the petals. I am just learning stacking and like Stuart said in macro there is a lot of talk of not only sharpness but where the sharpness is. So I see the most sharpness dead center...is that what you intended. did you experiment with sharpness at differnt levels then decide it was best at center. Reflecting what I am going thru now. Also, can the subject stand alone as a photo with 1 area of sharpness or does it need stacking. so welcome to the thought process!!!

95 Jul 24 Comment the crystals are beautiful. I have only seen what Stuart has done and I think it will let you hear from him. I have not tried playing with the microscope idea yet but should do that before I retire. Jul 15th
95 Jul 24 Comment agree... gives me the creepy crawlies too. head in focus looks good so the softness in back end is accepted/expected - let's me believe it is a macro photo... I like that. Jul 15th
95 Jul 24 Comment I seems like there was too much for the stacking to handle this time. I would have suggested to leave out the pot from the photo. the leaves are interesting but somehow the pot does not appeal to me nor the box paper. aloe with yellow background would be enough. leaves in all different directions look like they would have been enough of a stacking experiment in itself. but you got us a reference article! I like seeing your experiments Keith, we are kind of at similar points with this. can you tell me where the commands for the HDR are in photoshop. not sure I am using the same thing. I am with the align/blend. I also thought you said your camera did the stacking???? Jul 15th
